One of the important requirements for my project is the ability to automatically generate a report and have them e-mailed nightly as a PDF attachment. Is it possible to do this with Telerik Reporting? If so, could you give me an example or point me to a resource?

Thanks-
David Tosi

Hello David Tosi,

Yes, it is possible to meet your requirements with our product, even thought you do not have this functionality out of the box.

There are two subtasks:
1. Export the report programmatically in PDF format.
2. Email the resulting stream/file as attachment.

There is a KB called Saving a report into PDF format programmatically that addresses the first task. And a full sample covering the whole scenario you can find at forum thread Send a report by email.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Best wishes,

Both the KB links are no longer active now. Could you pls share the updated links for the same. We wish too implement Automated reporting via schedulers.

Thanks in advance,

Chetan

Hello Chetan,

These are the updated links to the articles:
Note that you can schedule reports to be rendered and sent by e-mail out-of-the-box using the Telerik Report Server.
