Automate Stories, Tasks in Team Pulse

Hello,
We have some products which follow the same process, tasks etc when developing. We have constructed a "base template" in excel of all the User stories and associated tasks. Is there a way in team pulse to save these as a "template" so when starting a project all the standards tasks are already set up?

Hi Vivid Group,

 We have received feature requests for creating story templates and we hope to implement this functionality in an upcoming release. This will include setting default values to story properties and also default tasks that could be added. I will add another vote for it in our TeamPulse.

Besides form this are you asking for a template on a project (not story) level?

Hi Elena,

Yes, it would be great if you could login to TeamPulse, create your project and select a "custom template" which populates user stories and associated tasks so we dont have to re-enter everytime!

Hi Matt,

I've added a feature for creating stories and tasks during project creation to our backlog and added a vote to it. 

One more question though.  If we enhanced the import stories feature to allow you to also create child tasks, would that meet your needs?  If you're unfamiliar with this feature, the Import Stories screen allows you to create stories from a csv file (created in excel, or elsewhere).  The idea here being that you could use the excel spreadsheet you already have, convert it to csv, and then import those stories and tasks into TeamPulse after you create a project.

absolutely - that would be very handy as our template has user stories and associated tasks. to import this into Teampulse would save a great deal of time.

Hi Elena,

Is a story template already available? I see that this post is a year old so I hope it already has been realized :)
For my new project I just spend hours to add 6 standard tasks to 100 stories :( The feature would have been time saving.
Also other college are complaining about it.

It would be nice if you could update existing stories based on a template story as well. 
Or make it posible from the task board to copy multiple tasks and past them for other stories.

I just found out that with the update we did last night that it actualy is in the current team pulse version :) So thank you!
But I would me more efficient for me if this function can also be used from the taks board.... Can you add it as a feature request?

  I am sorry to hear that you had to manually add standard tasks to stories and I believe you and your team will enjoy using task templates from now on.

  I have added your feature request to our Ideas & Feedback Portal. I encourage you to visit our portal and vote for this or any other item you like as items with most votes will get higher priority in our product backlog.
