I am just curious whether the planned support of IBM's DB2 database support is referring to DB2 for Windows / *NIX or for iSeries DB2 database.

From my understanding, those 2 databases have the same name but not much else in common. The first runs on every day Operating Systems and the second on legacy systems like iSeries (AS/400) - mainframe.

My research for .Net to iSeries DB2 scenario revealed that IBM Connect software is needed for database connectivity. But did not really understood how these 2 software can work together.

Will you support iSeries, and if yes, will you provide a connectivity guide?

PS: An out of the box ORM solution supporting iSeries database may boost interest for large corporations to upgrade their in-house legacy systems to .Net. That is why I came here in the first place!

Hi John,

We will look for DB2 on Windows first and then see if and how to support it on other platforms.

Since DB2 is at the end of our list, it will take some more releases before we get there. Usually we add one database per release.

For more information you can always check our roadmap for the latest status.
