Any plan for ZIP control?

Do you plan to provide both client and server zip control that we can zip and unzip either on client or server?
It makes a lot more sense to zip up let's say one 100 small images into one zip file then use the upload control to do so.
If not, what's the recommendation to zip files on the client side?

It is a nice suggestion and I can image that it will work in many cases. At the moment we don't have such plans.

Yes, I saw that during my search, but unfortunately that project hasn't been updated or touched for the past two years. I think the Zip control can make a great compliment to the Upload control.

Actually, I recently performed a complete re-port of the latest #ziplib along with all the original #ziplib tests.

You will find that the project has been brought back to life.

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

Agreed with Ben,

This would be a must. Other companies (component one, xceed, ...) have a Zip control

I would like to see this (in the way that Xceed guys did - streaming not using isolated storage) and I need this function.

A ZIP library is in our development plans and the target is to release it with the official Q2 2011 release, which is scheduled some time in July this year.
