It appears that the ClientSettings.AllowColumnHide setting is not enforced by the HeaderContextMenu. What I mean by this is that when I set AllowColumnHide to false, the Columns menu option still appears in the HeaderContextMenu and the user is still able to hide the columns.

So I was wondering if setting AllowColumnHide to false could work like the Groupable property does on a column. Where, when you set the property to false, that menu option does not appear in the HeaderContextMenu.

This occurs in IE8 with RadControls version 2011.3.1305.35 of the controls.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    Hello Audrey,

In response to your answer on how to hide the Columns menu item in the Header ContextMenu. I think there should be an easier way to hide that menu item though some kind of setting, instead of having to always manually remove it from the HeaderContextMenu using it's ItemCreated event.

So I would hope that the AllowColumnHide property will be used to implement such a feature.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    Hello,

I have already forwarded your suggestion to our Dev team. Whether this feature will be implemented depends on how many people want that feature. Currently, I am unable to give you an estimation when this will happen, but you could check the release notes of the official releases.

Do not hesitate to contact us again if you have other questions.
