Good day!

I managed to change the style of the RadPangeGroup using Expression blend 4. I am able to do moderate styling changes like colour, fonts etc. I tried changing the header background of the RadPangeGroup but to no avail, it is just not showing (except for the changes in colour etc.).

I attached an example that one of our graphic designers made and would like to know if I can style the RadPaneGroup to look something like it (will it even be possible?).

I followed these steps to do the styling: http://www.telerik.com/help/silverlight/raddocking-styling-the-radpanegroup.html

Sorry for the random request, I just can't spend more time on styling if these changes will not be possible?

Kind Regards,
Jaco

Hi Jaco,

Yes, it is possible to style RadPaneGroup like this. I have attached a sample that roughly resembles your design just to illustrate where the changes are to be made. I suggest you use the Metro theme as a base for your customizations.

Styling the appearance is simple. You need to customize the PaneHeaderStyle to add and align elements to the blue header of the RadPaneGroup. Furthermore, customize the control template of RadPaneGroup to show hide needed pin / unpin / close buttons, to add a separate grid row to give the folded paper effect of the pane header and so on.

The only thing that is not clear is the direction of the slide. If the desired effect is more like the expand / collapse effect, then I suggest you consider using the RadPanelBar control instead.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your help!!! I will definitely consider using the panel bar, don't know why I didn't think of it sooner ;)
