It looks like the visual schema editor can create new domain classes based on database views if the schema is updated from a database, and views are already in the database.  However, I can't seem to create new views in the schema editor, and when a new database is updated from the schema editor, the generated sql script doesn't create any views from the model.  Is there a setting that I'm missing, or is the visual designer not able to generate views in databases?

Any information would be appreciated, thank you.

Hello Chen-song,

At the moment Telerik Data Access supports views only in database first scenarios. Unfortunately it is not possible to create views in the model using the Visual Designer and update the database schema with them. Please excuse us for any inconvenience this might have caused you.

We are always looking for ways to improve Telerik Data Access. If you are interest in such functionality you could create a feature request in our Feedback Portal. Voting for the request will help us prioritize its eventual implementation.

Do not hesitate to get back to us in case you have additional questions or need help.
