Hi,

first of all - you did a good job with this control - and you did it at the right time - because I need something like this at my current project.

Two things about the listbox:
a.) In Safari 4 (for windows) Enabled="false" does not disable the listbox
b.) In IE8 vertical scrolling is a bit "strange" (not really a problem)
-- sometime the thumb "jumps" a bit (the larger the thumb is the better you can see it)
--You can see this when you make a scrolling listbox and simply keep the mouse pressed on the down button.
--- it will start scrolling - and then jump back up - followed by "normal scrolling"

a.) is important
b.) is just "2 pixels away from perfection" :)

Another thing - I messed around a bit with the thing - searched the documentation and found nothing about
"Serverside Data extraction".

First I was afraid that this is not possible (there is a sample which tells "Autopostback must be true to update...");
but later I found that this is possible - it's only not documented.

I would suggest to provide a sample which show's such a scenario like adding "extras to an item".
Example - provide a user with "Shipping options" where he  can choose from a list like "Overnight, FastTrack, Insurance, GPS Tracked".
On the server the data is extracted from the "RadListBox2.Items" collection.
And that - combined with a Grid (Add new item) would be an interesting (and I guess common) scenario.

This is just an example - maybe I'll provide such a thing in the Code Library if I find time.

Regards

Manfred

First of all - sorry - I've overseen that there is already a post about "Enabled=false" does not work.
By the way - in IE8 it works for me :)

Anyhow - i threatened to provide an example :) and so I did.
And I found out that there is no section for the ListBox in the Code Library.

But (in this case) this doesn't matter - since simply showing databinding and "Items access" on postbacks / callbacks looked boring I made an integration sample where I use 2 RadListBoxes in a RadGrid to show / edit option sets.

A soon as the sample has passed screening you will find it under "General and Integration Projects"
http://www.telerik.com/community/code-library/aspnet-ajax/general.aspx

Anyhow - the Listbox is great - maybe someone could open a section for it in the Code Library.
Maybe we will soon find samples there :)

Regards

Manfred

Hello ManniAT,

We are aware of the "Enabled=false" issue and will address it prior the Q2 SP1.

As for the Code Library, we created a section for RadListBox today and moved your Project there.

Thank you for your contribution to RadListBox development and resources.

All the best,
Simon

Hi Simon,

nice to hear about this consideration :)

And please don't feel stressed - sometimes I'm like a little child feeling forgotten...
Then I tend to pest my environment...
But don't take me serious when I act like this :)

Thanks

Manfred
