Summer is here and we have all had plenty of time to play with Telerik's Q2 2011 release, but since then several of us here have been excited about another release – Visual Studio LightSwitch. As a development environment for non-developers, LightSwitch offers the flexibility of the Silverlight platform while taking care of the gritty detail like creating an infrastructure or a navigation model, letting users create screens and associated data models for quick deployment.
Where does Telerik fit into this? As a market leader in the XAML space, Telerik has been working with the Silverlight platform since v1.0, allowing us to bring our expertise to the table and allow professional developers to leverage their skills with Telerik Silverlight controls in the LightSwitch environment. With our series of hands-on-labs you can easily create LightSwitch applications while utilizing familiar Silverlight controls like RadGridView, RadChart, and RadRichTextBox to bring unparalleled performance and functionality to LightSwitch. Using this model and these examples, you can easily extend any of the RadControls for Silverlight for use within LightSwitch bringing your applications to a whole new level.
Take a tour of the LightSwitch hands-on-labs, and don’t forget that the //BUILD/ Windows conference is right around the corner. Much like with LightSwitch, Telerik is dedicated to supporting the latest and greatest Microsoft technologies, so we’re as excited as everyone else to see what’s next!
