Software development tools leader addresses HTML5, Windows Phone, extends value and functionality of Silverlight with new tools, updates, and enhancements
WALTHAM, MA, NOVEMBER 16, 2011 – Telerik, an end-to-end provider of software application lifecycle and content management solutions, today announced a diverse array of updates, new tools, and product enhancements being implemented across its full developer productivity portfolio.
Making their debut are new Silverlight, AJAX, and Windows Phone controls, WinForms touch and multi-touch support, data access improvements for its OpenAccess ORM, and CSS support in JustCode. Also being introduced are new tools aimed at helping developers embrace next-generation platforms like HTML5, further demonstrating Telerik’s commitment to bridging the gap between mature and emerging platforms.

In Q3 2011, Silverlight developers will benefit from a host of new components, including Virtualized WrapPanel, Calculator, TreeMap, Pivot Map, and an innovative, performance-optimized RadChartView. Telerik’s first major release since Microsoft’s BUILD conference underscores Telerik's commitment to Silverlight developers, laying the groundwork for more significant XAML improvements in 2012.
Telerik is also launching an array of ASP.NET AJAX and MVC, Windows Phone, and WinForms controls, upgrades, and enhancements including:
- RadSocialShare for ASP.NET AJAX for easy social networking integration, and OrganizationChart, providing a hierarchal structure for visualized data
- Additional HTML5 data visualizations with pie and scattered chart controls for ASP.NET MVC
- Eight new Mango-ready Windows Phone controls, like ToolTip, Auto-Complete, and ProgressBar, as well as a variety of RadChart enhancements
- Multi-touch support and the updated RichTextBox control, offering native Microsoft Word-style text editing, have been added to the WinForms suite
- A Metro UI-inspired theme available for all Telerik UI controls
OpenAccess ORM is being augmented with new project templates, such as WebSite, Class Library, and MVC Application, simplifying and accelerating the process of getting OpenAccess-enabled applications up and running in Microsoft Visual Studio. An improved Stored Procedure Editor simplifying setup and usage of stored procedures in the application has also been added.
Telerik’s line of productivity tools has been refreshed with a wide range of added functionalities, as well as performance and stability optimizations. JustCode now offers developers Async, CSS, and Razor support. JustTrace has been supplemented with new navigation and filtering capabilities.
