Challenges and Objectives

The project was to create a web application able to manage a tennis association activity. The project started as a joined venture between the tennis association and us. Their role was to feed us with requirements and validate our work. The challenge was to make sure we were developing the right functionality for the first phase of the project. The schedule was tight. We had only five months to come up with a working web application covering the basic needs of the association and replacing their current website. To help us in this task we decided to go with an agile approach. The approach was well received from the association as they felt they were part of the project and not only customers or testers.

Why TeamPulse

We have already used another Telerik product in our web applications, and we were to use Telerik yet again in our new project. Telerik TeamPulse was the logic choice for us. We were expecting the same kind of support and quality as of other Telerik products.

Results

With TeamPulse, we could communicate the status of the project with our customer at each iteration. With the help of the reports module, we could easily show the evolution of the project. The reports also helped us to choose the best user stories after demos. Our customer was pleased with the reports, and the collaboration was excellent. The ability to rank and characterized the user stories help us to come up with the best backlog for the project as well.

Tennis en Ligne™ is the web application we developed using TeamPulse as our agile tool. The first version of our product can be found at http://tennissainthubert.com. We are currently working on the 2012 version for the next season.
