The Sales Dashboard for Windows Forms is a composite business application for visualizing a company’s sales force performance. It is built with the Q3 2009 versions of Telerik’s WinForms components, and implements the Telerik CAB Enabling Kit for WinForms, which helps in the development of smart-client line-of-business (LOB) applications. The use of RadChart for WPF showcases the easy cross-platform integration between Telerik product lines. Telerik OpenAccess ORM was used for the enterprise-grade data access layer, which together with the advanced binding mechanism of RadControls the data is displayed with minimum coding. Hi Sean Beaulac,

It seems that you have references to different versions of Telerik assemblies (also known as dll hell). Please make sure that all the references of the Sales Dashboard solution point to one assembly version of each of the suites - WinForms, OpenAccess, WPF.

If this does not help, please send us at least the stack trace of the exception. This will allow us to assist you further.

    Regards,

    Hi Phyo,

Thanks for writing and for reporting this issue. I would like to inform you that we have updated the Sales Dashboard solution and are going to upload the new version on our website. It will be available next week so I would like to ask you to wait for a little longer until it is available online. You should be able to run it then. Thanks for your time. Do not hesitate to write back if you need further assistance or have any questions.

    Hello Midhat,

    Thank you for writing.

Currently, we are working on updating this application to our latest release. Once we upload the updated application, you will be able to open it with VS2010. Meanwhile, please use VS2008 to open the application.

    Hi Abdul,

    Thank you for your question.

As the README file in the demo archive states, you should have SQL Server 2008 (Express) installed on your PC and you should also install the NorthWind database on your SQL Server. Here is a quote from this file:

    2. If you have the Northwind database installed, skip this step and go to step #3. If you do NOT have the Northwind database installed:
2.a. You will need to attach it into SQL Server 2008 (Express). The database is located in
    ..\SalesDashboard_WinForms\Source\Telerik.SalesDashboard.Web\App_Data.
2.b. Name the SQL-attached DB "NORTHWND". This is how the DB is named in the web.config file.
2.c. Open the web.config file located in
..\SalesDashboard_WinForms\Source\Telerik.SalesDashboard.Web and locate the servername property; update it with your SQL credentials if needed. The default setting is
    <servername>(LOCAL)\SQLEXPRESS</servername>
    Save and close the file.

I hope that you find this information helpful.
