The standard listbox supports multicolumn.  Is this soemthing the RadListbox will support?

    Hello Chris Castle,

Currently, RadListBox doesn't support this feature. We definitely intend to extend its behavior with the multicolumn feature in the next releases of our controls (however this is not planned for Q3 2007).

Contact us again if you have any additional questions.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Pratik,

RadListBox is still a single column control. However, you can easily make our RadGridView look like a multi-column listbox. For additional information, please refer to the following knowledge base article:
    Create MultiColumnListBox based on RadGridView.

    All the best,

    Hi Nikolay,

Isn't RadGrid going to be much heavier than the RadListBox though?
We are creating some user controls that will have upto 4 of these controls.

    Hello Pratik,

No, RadGridView will not be much heavier than RadListBox, because both RadGridView and RadListBox are built on Telerik Presentation Framework and they share the same types of visual elements. Shortly said, RadGridView is as heavy as a possible implementation of a multi-column RadListBox.

    Kind regards,
    Nikolay

    hope this helps

    Hi Richa,

    Thank you for writing back.

We do not have plans to implement such a control, since RadGridView provides all the functionality that such a control might offer. Please refer to the knowledge base article that my colleague Nikolay has suggested. It demonstrate how can you make RadGridView look like a ListControl with multiple columns.

Just to mention, the performance will not be affected by the fact that you are using RadGridView, because even if a multicolumn ListControl is released, it will be built on top of Telerik Presentation Framework just like RadGridView.

I hope you find this information helpful.

    Greetings,
    Stefan
