  Would is be possible to alter / extend the RadSlide view to enable animating in and out items in the view.
  
  Basic effect i'm looking for is to roll the items into the page and then roll them out as well.
  
  Is this possible with RadSideView or would it be better to use an alternate control?

  Thank you for contacting us. Currently the scenario you're looking for is not supported by RadSlideView. I'd suggest you take a look at our RadTransitionControl and see if will suit your case better. Let me know if you need further assistance.

  Are there any examples showing the use of the transition control within a listbox item template (or am I barking up the wrong tree there)

  Is your question related to RadDataBoundListBox or to RadSlideView as this is the forum category that handles questions about RadSlideView?
  
  The RadTransitionControl can be easily put in any DataTemplate (no matter whether you target an item in RadSlideView or RadDataBoundListBox). We do also have support for per-item animations in RadDataBoundListBox which we have thoroughly documented in our online help:

  Well I started with RadSlideView and was extending beyond on that basis.
  
  
  
  What I am aiming for is to extend what RadSlideView does natively (show single item and animate the next item in place of the current)
  
  A Hybrid between the two options currently available on the slide view at present (Slide / flip)
  
  
  
  I suspect the databoundlistbox isn't going to give me what I was after as it's more about displaying multiple items in a list rather than the single view in the slideview (also akin to the looping list)
  
  
  
  In the end I want to alter the effect of a new item entering the screen (similar to the flip effect of slideview) but rotate in instead of flip

  RadDataBoundListBox's scrolling mechanism is inteded for scrolling large lists of items without providing per-item-snapping for each item on the scrollable list. The RadSlideView implements another scrolling menachism which does exactly that. However, currently only two transition modes are available:
  
  - Flip and
  - Slide.
  
  You can take a look at the Transitions example of RadSlideView in our Telerik Demos app available on the Marketplace.
  
  We can consider extending the feature set of the control to support transitions customization but I cannot currently give an exact timeframe when this will happen.
