One of the features demoed in the videos was the ability to get a hierarchical view on the task board by selecting Parent Work Item for the Group By and defining parent/child work item types. I don't have the "Parent Work Item" option in my drop down list. I'm using the EMS scrum template. Did I miss a set-up step?
Thanks

Hi Paul,
Unfortunately, that video is a little out of date. At one point there was a "Parent Work Item" option in the group by list, but for performance reasons we had to change how the child/related work items got displayed. Now if you want to view the child/related work items you need to hover your mouse over a sticky note and click on the link icon. The related work items will then be displayed in their own separate task board.
Thanks,
JP

Hi JP,
I'm a fan of your Work Item Manager but unfortunately without the "Parent Work Item" view in the taskboard the taskboard itself is very hard to read for us. So could you tell me, is it planned to have the Parent Work-Item View again directly on the taskboard?
Thanx for your reply

Hello Reinhard Decker,
Displaying parent work items is a feature that we would like to add back into the product. Currently, we plan to re-visit this issue when we fully add TFS 2010 support to WIM and Dashboard. We are hopeful that the Link Types features of TFS 2010 will help us accomplish this without the big hit to preformance that we saw with TFS 2008.
Thanks for the interest,
Ryan
