  Is there a way to setup hotkeys / shortcut keys to trigger buttons, etc. in the toolbar?

  Unfortunately the RadToolBar doesn't support such functionality. However, I added your request in our PITS so that you can vote for it. And if it gathers enough popularity we will definitely consider implementing it. I also updated your Telerik account for your feedback.
  
  Currently similar functionality is supported by the RadRibbonBar. You can have a look at this demo and this blog post for more info about it.

  Well - the only issue with that is very few people use the regular toolbar - so I suppose it will never be implemented... I don't see how you could have a toolbar without hotkey support?

  I see your point on the issue. As a whole the RadToolBar supports more common scenarios and the hotkeys feature has never been demanded until now. 
  
  However, you can be sure that we will take your suggestion into consideration so keep track of the item and stay tuned.
