Hi I have made some progress so wanted to update my post.

I am having an issue editing the RadMenuItem control.  In the resources tree, I can see only certain parts of the theme controls to edit.  For instance, I want to change the theme for the hover, but NavigationMouseoverFill is missing from the list.

How would I do that in the code?  Please forgive me, while I have a programming background this is my first silverlight project so I'm still learning.

Here's a link to the screenshot of the resource tree for reference: Resource Tree Screen

Is there anyone that has any information regarding changing hover theming for the RadMenu controls?  I have searched all over, and have found nothing. I really need the help.

    Thanks!

    Hi Elke,

We introduced a new ButtonChrome control half an year ago which is used to render some button like states of the controls. In each RadMenuItem template there should be a ButtonChrome control which has its RenderHighlihgted template binded to the appopriate property of the RadMenuItem. If you want to change the 'MouseOver' state you will have to edit the ButtonChrome's Highlighted state and change the brushes used in it.

As it may seem a little bit complicated in your case if you are about to style several controls the states will be managed by the chrome and will look a lot more consistent through the various controls.

    Best wishes,

How do I edit the highlighted state? I've tried from the States tab, but when selecting Highlighted and then trying to record a new background color I get an error. "This property is not valid".
