    Hi Support,

Now that VS 2008 is here I am just about to upgrade a .net 2 (2005) project to asp.net 3.5(2008)...  will radcontrols for .net still work? .. guess not but is  Prometheus for .net 3.5... what the release date .. how stable is the beta?

    Thanks in advance

    Lee

    Hello Lee,

Both RadControls for ASP.NET and the Prometheus suites work fine in .NET 3.5 web sites. Just make sure that you select 3.5 as the framework version for the project (see attached screenshot). When you do that, Visual Studio will automatically modify the web.config file and add the appropriate lines to make the controls compatible.

I am attaching a simple web site project, done in VS 2008. It features RadMenu from the ASP.NET controls for .NET 2.0 and RadEditor from the Prometheus suite. You can use the web.config configuration of this site as a reference if you encounter any problems with your upgrade.

I am using VS 2008 with RadControls for ASP.NET.  I found there are several issues in MultiView/  PageView.

I create a MultiView containers and try to add several PageView to the container. But Sometimes it allows me to do that, but sometimes it doesn't.  Also, Background color / Foreground  color properity of PageView throws out errors.

    Hello Rick Chen,

We tested the Background and Foreground color and couldn't reproduce the problem. What is the exact error you receive?

As for the PageView issue - could you provide us the exact steps how to reproduce it locally?

    I'm using VS2008 Pro with RadControls for ASP.Net 2009 Q1.

I cannot seem to drag and drop any RadControls unto my form. I've copied the folders from the RadControls folder to my project for the controls I'm trying to use. I changed the target framework to 2.0 as well but no luck.

    What am I missing?

    Hello,

Are the controls visible in the Visual Studio toolbox? Do they become visible if you right-click the toolbox and select "Show All". If not, you can try adding them manually - right-click on the toolbox, select "Add Tab" and then right-click in the new tab and select "Choose Items...". Browse to the RadControls assemblies (Rad*.Net2.dll files) and select them in the Choose Items dialog.

If the controls are visible in the toolbox, but are grayed out, you will need to change the target framework of your project.

    All the best,
    Lini

    Hi,

Right-click on the website project root item in the Visual Studio solution explorer and choose "Property pages". You can find the target framework in the Build tab. See the attached screenshot for more details.
