    Hi,
we are facing problem with file upload in IE8 & IE7 and there is no problem with IE9 & other browsers.
We are using Telerik.web.UI.dll file version - 2011.1.413.40   RadUpload. The problem is that when we select button to upload the file browser not open and in selection box cursor is blinking only i.e. not possible to browse file.
Our requirement is to work fine for IE7 to IE9. So please suggest me if any settings are require if code issue then let me know.

    Thanks
    Jaichand

    Hi Jaichand,

I have tested the RadUpload under IE7 and IE8 and everything works fine. Please review the following video. Please record a video how you reproduce the issue. Please set the EnableFileInputSkinning="false" and try to reproduce it again.

    Best wishes,

    Hello Jaichand,

Please record a video how you reproduce the issue or please send me a working sample project (to investigate it locally) that reproduces your issue.

    Hi,

I am experiencing this issue and have uploaded a jing video to my dropbox as a zip file (just under 10MB)...

Jing screencast of Issue with IE8 on RadUpload

In the video i do the following...

    • create a .net 3.5 vb web app from scratch.
    • add a radupload control from the 2011.3.1305.35 control suite to a blank aspx page
    • add the IE7 emulation meta tag
    • set EnableFileInputSkinning to false
    • run the project and demonstrate the file picker dialog
    • working in chrome
    • working in IE6 and IE9
    • and not working in IE7 and IE8

you will also notice some odd rendering of the first upload row, but subsequent ones look fine.

The same behaviour occurs in telerik.web.ui 2010.2.929.35

also the exact same behaviour occurs in the .net 4 builds of both versions.

    Hi Guy,

I was able to reproduce the issue. It happens because the IE browser is rendering an additional property: style="width:15px" on the input container. I have logged the problem in our bug tracking system to investigate it further.

As a gratitude for pointing this out, I updated your Telerik points.

i resorted to adding the IE specific 'emulate IE7' meta tag.

see, if I put the meta tag in, it breaks in both IE7 and IE8.
If I dont put it in, it works in IE8.

Also, seems as tho putting EnableFileInputSkinning="true" makes it work. Tho I need to test the impact of that.

    Hi,

The issue is fixed. Please try the latest build of our controls. Setting the EnableFileInputSkinning=true can be used as a workaround, because the wrapper of the input is calculated wrong.

Peter, you've said both EnableFileInputSkinning="false" and EnableFileInputSkinning="true" in just this thread alone. Can you clarify on the setting that works? I haven't had good luck with false, myself.

    Thanks!

    Hi Justin,

The confusion is caused because the thread became with the introduction of one issue and after it another appears (which are already fixed).
To avoid the last problem please set EnableFileInputSkinning="true".
