  Hi,
  
  I add over 150 columns to Rad Filter in code behind grammatically. When I click columns section on RadFilter, it takes really long to show the list. Also the list is so long, and it is not easy to find the column name you want.
  
  So I was wondering if I could use a type ahead to select the column name.

  Hello Nazmi,
  
  The column list of the RadFilter is a RadContextMenu and it does not support the type ahead functionality.
  However, if the menu contains more items than can be displayed on the screen, you can enable its scrolling as it is described here.

  Hi Mira,
  
  So how would you suggest working with such a large number fo columns  since the combo box approach will not meet the need?
  
  As I said it takes time to show the menu, also it is not easy to find the column in about 150 columns.

  Using a RadComboBox for the field names in the RadFilter is not supported out of the box.
  I recommend that you enable the scrolling of the context menu if you have so many columns.
  
  However, I will forward your suggestion to our developers and they will consider implementing it in future versions of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX.

  Hi,
  
  I'd also like to add a request for this feature. I have many fields in the context menu and even with scrolling, it can be difficult to locate the field. A combobox with loadondemand and filtering would be a great addition.
  Is there any workaround to try and swap out the contextmenu for a combobox control?

  I am afraid that the desired functionality cannot be achieved with the RadFilter with a straight-forward approach.
  However, I will perform further research and keep you posted.
