What's on the Q3'14 Roadmap for UI for WPF and UI for Silverlight

Our Q3 2014 road-maps for UI for WPF and UI for Silverlight are already out, so let me highlight the most interesting pieces.

New XAML Controls

As a new addition to our WPF and SL suites we are working on our Beta version of RadRadialMenu. The new component will enhance your touch (and mouse) applications with an easy to use and modern looking menu. Telerik Radial Menu will come out with support for selection, a variety of commands and more than 15 predefined themes:


RadWordsProcessing for WPF becomes official in Q3 2014. With its help you will be able to create, edit, export and import text documents without installing any third party software.
Another control from UI for WPF will be officially released in Q3 2014. RadCloudUpload will help you with the asynchronous upload of your files to the cloud. Take advantage of built-in validation, multiple-file selection support, progress tracking and more.


RadRichTextBox will enable the users of your application to implement different Input Method Editors (IME) on their own through a new IME customization support.

The new Ragged Hierarchy support for RadPivot will help to represent user-defined hierarchies with uneven number of levels.

In Q3’14 RadPdfProcessing will be enhanced with table support, the ability to convert System types to RadPdfProcessing types and create PDFs from flow content by splitting the content to lines, paragraphs and pages. All of these enhancements will target your end-users and will provide better readability of the exported PDF.

We plan to introduce new data validation options in RadSpreadsheet to help you define restrictions on what data can be entered in a cell. Techniques include restricting data entry to whole numbers, decimal numbers, list of choices, date range, text length or a formula used to calculate what is allowed. New improvements in new row/column headers will allow you to hide rows and columns or give them custom names.

In RadWordsProcessing for WPF users will be able to create documents from templates containing merge fields evaluated using data source with the new mail merge functionality. The list continues with support for lists (‘ul’, ‘ol’) and table style when exporting or importing HTML documents. Another exciting addition will be the new document variables which provide support for fields evaluated using values pre-set in the document.
