Telerik blogs

It’s been a newsworthy week for Telerik’s ASP.NET AJAX customers. We managed to publish the official Q3 2012 roadmap (hope you find what you need there) and pushed out a fresh Q2 2012 Service Pack. And what a service pack! It’s not an ordinary maintenance release, because we shipped two long-awaited controls with it – PivotGrid (CTP) and AutoCompleteBox. :-)

RadPivotGrid for ASP.NET AJAX is now available as a CTP. Still, the control has all the basic features, such as paging, sorting, drag-and-drop fields, scrolling (vertical and horizontal), etc. You can bind the component using declarative DataSource controls or programmatically bind the PivotGrid to custom collections or DataTables. Next on the line are filtering and building OLAP services. See demos

RadAutoCompleteBox is a light-weight autocomplete component allowing your end users to choose single or multiple items from the suggest list populated based on their input. The control supports server-side and client-side binding and two input types - text and token. See demos

The release also features several improvements to the major controls, as well as more than 100 fixes. You can read details in the full release notes or get the update now and play with it live.

As for the roadmap, Q3’12 will help you build richer line-of-business applications thanks to the upcoming Gauge control and new HTMLChart types. Full Visual Studio 2012 and IE10 support, multiple mobile enhancements and OData integration for the major controls will keep your apps up to date with the latest industry trends. You can read about all that’s coming up here.

Finally, don’t forget we’re always looking forward to hearing from you. Let us know what you think about the new controls and what’s coming in our forums or in the comments below, so that you can help us shape our future plans. Thank you in advance!
