Insert YouTube and Vimeo videos with RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX

    November 09, 2011 Share
Starting from Q3 2011, the RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX gets a new dialog - Insert External Video, which provides the ability to easily embed a YouTube or a Vimeo stream providing just the URL. Steps to insert a video: Open the  Insert External Video dialog and paste the copied video link into the Paste Youtube or Vimeo video URL textbox, e.g.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWv11JDPy24 To preview the video and enable the Embed video settings panel click outside of the textbox after you paste the URL. It is possible to configure the video using the Aspect ratio, Width and Height customization options, as well as to choose whether the video will play...

Accessibility support in RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX

    November 18, 2010 Share
One of the major goals for our AJAX RadEditor control is to provide an accessible content creation experience. For us, this task is divided into two major categories - having an accessible editor UI and helping the end user produce accessible content. With the Q3 2010 release, we made improvements to both and I want to share the results with you.  The first major improvement is the new AccessibleRadEditor control. It is a stripped down version of the full featured RadEditor and has a simpler toolbar to allow easy navigation using only the keyboard. All tools have assigned shortcuts and even the...

    Localizing the RadEditor

In my last post I went over how to create your own custom dictionary for RadSpell and since this control is fully integrated into our RadEditor control I wanted to discuss how to use your custom dictionary with the RadEditor, as well as how to localize the RadEditor itself. To start off we want to make sure that we can take use of our custom dictionary in the RadEditor. To do this we need to make sure that the “RadSpell” folder is located in the “App_Data” folder of our project. In the RadSpell folder we have to add all of our custom...

Our plans for ASP.NET AJAX and SharePoint 2010

The new MS Office and SharePoint release is just around the corner, and I want to assure everyone that we will provide full support for SP 2010 in our next RadControls release - Q2 2010. We have already put up a page with information about the new SP release. You can find all the information you need at the SharePoint product page on our site. In this post I will talk about the ASP.NET AJAX controls, but as you will see on the product page, we will also offer support for our Silverlight UI controls.   The most important thing I want to...

RadEditor dialogs - what's new in the Q1 2010 release

    January 14, 2010 Share
As usual, the next major update of the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX will be packed with exciting new features. Unfortunately, this means that some performance related optimizations will be left in the background, which is why I want to present one of them here. The Q1 2010 release will add a new property for the RadEditor's RadDialogOpener control - EnableTelerikManagers. When it set to true and you have a RadScriptManager or a RadStyleSheetManager on the page, the editor dialogs will start using these controls as well. The main benefit from the script and stylesheet managers is faster loading speed - due to less...
