Introducing the LOB Chronicles - Building a CRM Demo

Today we’re starting a new endeavor in the Xaml teams at Telerik to bring a new demo application your way.   The application that we have in mind is a Customer Relationship Management (better known as CRM) solution intended to help a fictional sales person through the trials and tribulations of his day-to-day experience.  Now keep in mind, we’re not looking to make an application that gets sold under the Telerik banner, rather this is an exercise to see how UX, design, architecture, and our team of eight can work together to produce and explain a brand new demo featuring some...

    Improved Upgrade Wizard

When creating our Visual Studio Extensions, accelerating development with our components has been the number one goal. One of the VS Extensions’ core components is the Upgrade Wizard. For those who aren’t familiar, it can be found under the Visual Studio Telerik menu. Using the toolbox configurator will add the items in the toolbox organized in groups, although the old ‘one-tab’ look will still apply for previous releases. If you find it hard to keep...

Reading/Writing cookies with HtmlPlaceholder for Silverlight

Recently we received a support ticket with a question whether RadHtmlPlaceholder provides support for cookies. By default, RadHtmlPlaceholder doesn't have a mechanism for reading/writing cookies. However, with the right bits of JavaScript, everything is possible :) Imagine you have an HTML page which you want to read/write cookies to and all this has to happen from Silverlight. First, you need few JavaScript methods for reading/writing cookies. Let's call the page we want to read/write cookies to CookiesPage.html. <html>     <head>         <title>Cookies Page</title>         <script type="text/javascript">             // Create a cookie with the specified name and value             function SetCookie(name, value) {                 document.cookie = name + "=" + value;                 alert("Cookie successfully set");             }             // Retrieve the value of...
