Here we are with the first maintenance release of the Kendo UI Web + DataViz commercial package! This drop brings a few features across the Web and DataViz widgets as well as a range of bug fixes for issues discovered after the V1 2011 RTM release.

Among the highlights of this release are:

  • Plot bands for bar and line chart
  • Chart axes titles
  • redraw() method that redraws the chart without fetching new data
  • Method chaining support in the Menu, Panelbar and TabStrip widgets
  • Groupable setting for grid columns
  • Window minimization capability and dragstart event
  • A bunch of fixes and enhancements targeting mobile devices

What's Next

We are heading towards the second major release of the Kendo UI Framework, slated for March 2012, which will mark the arrival of the individual Web, DataViz and Mobile flavors and will convey the Kendo UI Complete bundle that combines them all. Expect Kendo UI Complete Beta release at the very end of February, and let us know what you think about it once shipped.
