Test List Run Prepartion Failed

PROBLEM

A scheduled test list that contains one or more tests with coded step fails to execute and gives one of the following errors:

The TestList run prepartion failed and execution cannot continue! Error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
StackTrace:
   at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Design.ProjectModel.Test.NeedToCompile()

The TestList run prepartion failed and execution cannot continue! Error message: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: path2
StackTrace:
   at System.IO.Path.Combine(String path1, String path2)
   at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Design.ProjectModel.Test.NeedToCompile()

 

2012.1.528
The Project failed to compile!
Errors: error CS2021: File name 'C:\Temp\Output\TestListName - ##################\bin\.dll' is too long or invalid.

SOLUTION

These are known issues and are fixed in an upcoming internal build. This page will be updated once the version number is finalized.

 

In the meantime, employ the following work-around:

1. Locate the following file on the machine which has full Test Studio installed:
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Test Studio\Bin\Plugins\ArtOfTest.Common.TFSClient.dll
2. Copy and paste the file to the corresponding location on the Execution Server which has Run-Time Edition installed.
