Monday, April 18, 2011 by Daniel Levy | Comments 0

So here it is, the first post about what is coming in the forthcoming R1 2011 Test Studio release.

You can now set test steps to execute against specific browsers and even specific versions of those browsers. To run a test only against Internet Explorer 9, simply select the test step, adjust the 'RunAgainst' property to 'InternetExplorerOnly', then set the 'RunsAgainstVersion' property to '9' and lastly 'RunsAgainstVersionCompare' to 'Equals'. Thats all there is to it - the step will now be executed when you playback in IE9, however it will be ...

  • Automating Sitefinity 4 with Telerik Test Studio

Friday, April 15, 2011 by Daniel Levy | Comments 0

As you can imagine, we use a lot of our own products internally - all our teams use our Agile Project Management software, Team Pulse; Sitefinity uses our ASP.NET AJAX tools, ORM and RadControls for Silverlight and Test Studio for automated functional and regression testing; Test Studio uses ORM, RadControls for WPF - and this does not even begin to touch upon the collaboration and cross product use here at Telerik. Well - why not showcase this - why not show how well the Telerik suite of tools can work together to boost your teams productivity?

We thought we would start ...

Last week Telerik co-sponsored the SQuAD conference in Denver, CO (also known as 'The Mile High City' due to its elevation of 1 mile above sea level). • Best Practices: Element Identification with ID and AutomationID

Tuesday, March 01, 2011 by Daniel Levy | Comments 1

As a QA professional, it’s important to get involved with the development team early on in the process. This article will discuss just one of the many benefits in doing so – coding standards and the use of ID’s for enhanced team productivity. Require this up front and you can significantly cut back test case maintenance.

No matter what software you use for your test automation, the method in which elements are identified plays a critical role. Small changes to your application can often break the test’s ‘find logic’ causing your test runs to fail. Let’s say a couple elements ...

  • Telerik / NCover Webinar Now on Telerik TV!

Tuesday, February 22, 2011 by Daniel Levy | Comments 0

I just wrapped up a Telerik / NCover joint webinar with Daniel Waldschmidt, NCover's Technology Evangelist.

What a fantastic session! We provided great demonstrations of Telerik's Automated Testing Tools including tests with 'If..Else Statements', 'Do...While Loops', 'Coded Steps' and the handy 'Test As Step' feature. We then packed these tests into two test lists - first running a baseline test list in WebUI Test Studio with NCover monitoring IIS, then followed it up with a more complete test list to see the spike in coverage.

Dan W. then took us on a tour of NCover which showed us how much ...
