Telerik blogs

Last month, I announced that Telerik designers had created a variety of new logo proposals for Fiddler, and that we were looking to the Fiddler community to select their favorite.

A month later, thousands of votes have been cast, and while the contest was close, a winner emerged-- candidate #2:

While I thought each of the proposals had merit, I’m delighted with this choice. My favorite aspect of this logo concept is that it recalls both the edge of a fiddle (violin) and the open curly-brace that’s so common in software and web development:

Of course, the new logo marks only the very beginning of Fiddler’s visual refresh.

Next up is a major redesign of the Fiddler website (replacing my 90’s era tag soup) and then the design team will move on to UI improvements for Fiddler itself. From talking to users and running surveys, we know that there are lots of passionate and conflicting feelings about Fiddler’s UI. Throughout the new year, we’ll be working hard to make Fiddler more visually appealing and easier to use for both new and long-time users.

Thank you to everyone who voted!
