  We are using a slightly modified version of the MSF CMMI for Process Improvement v5.0 template (TFS 2010) and am wondering if the Work Item Manager from Telerik requires use of the the Agile process template?

  Hi Pete,
  
  The Work Item Manager can work with any process template, even highly customized ones so your modified CMMI template should work just fine.  The only issue customized templates cause is that some of the default settings for features such as the task board or dashboard might not be correct out-of-the-box.  This all depends on what you've changed in your template though.
