    Hi,

I like the looks of the Dashboard and it seems to be able to give a lot of info.

Our iterations are nested like this:

    .Scheduled
        .Next
            .Wk 01
                Project A iteration 1
                Project B iteration 3

Can you make use of sub iterations, or use all iteration which start and end date have an overlap with the current data ?
We will actually buy a license if there is a possibility for a more configurable setup.

Using TFS you can create query for filtering all sub iterations, of a specific one ( where iteration_path 'under' .Scheduled/.Next/.Wk01 )
Maybe it is possible to patch the Dashboard.exe, since it programmatically create a query :-)   (iteration_path '==' .... )

    Hello Edgar,

Thanks for the feedback.  These types of scenarios are very valuable to us.

At this time there is no way to make the dashboard work in the way you describe.  It always filters data by the first "current" iteration it finds, which we realize can be quite limiting.  I have recorded your input and we will try to improve this behavior in the future.

Any update on this? We need this feature as well.

Our issue is this: we've got several feature teams within our product, who use different sprint schedules. Because of this we organize our Iterations as follows:

    • FT 1
      • Sprint 1
      • Sprint 2
      • Sprint 3
    • FT 2
      • Sprint 1
      • Sprint 2
      • Sprint 3
      • Sprint 4

Note that the duration of sprints is not normalized between feature teams -- one FT might run a 2 week sprint, another might do a 4 week sprint.

Ideally what we'd like is for the dashboard to show items filtered to current day, independent of what FT or Sprint it is. (i.e. today might be Sprint 2 for FT1, and Sprint 1 for FT2)

    Hi Eugene,

Unfortunately, there has been no movement on this issue. But, thanks for the scenario information. This is exactly the type of scenario we would look to support in the future.

    Best wishes,

Just posting to see if any progress has been made on this.

We have a simialar requirement where we organise our iterations as follows and would like to use Sprint xx as the iteration for the dashboard.
    Sprint xx
        Team 1
        Team 2

    Thanks.

    Hi Lawrence,

Unfortunately we still have no progress on the scenarios you requested.
Currently project dashboard filters the data by using the first current iteration (which matches given period) that it finds. We'll try to improve this behavior as soon as possible.

From what I can tell, you guys are squashing future investments in TFS Work Item manager and Project Dashboard. Can someone confirm?

    Hi Alex,

There are currently no plans to further invest in TFS Work Item Manager other than continuing the current level of forum support.  Many of the features in WIM are now being supplied by TeamPulse so our hope is that customers will migrate over to that product.

    Kind regards,
