    Good afternoon!

    Project Dashboard Bugs/Feature Requests:

    1. Skewed View -  For some odd reason my dashboard is a bit skewed off my screen. I am using a laptop and a regular 21" monitor that is plugged into the laptop. The monitor is registered as being to the left of the laptop screen, yet my dashboard is skewed to the right with things cut off on the right hand side. I can email screenshot if needed.

    2. Pie Chart Labels - Would be nice if the data labels for the pie chart were in the center of the slices and not at the outer edge of the slice.

    3. Navigating to other project - I don't know what I'm pressing to cause the dashboard to move between projects in TFS, but after doing it a few times it begins to show double overlapping data in Team Progress, Activity Board,  and Recent Checkins windows for both projects. Team Activities animation stops animating but shows data for only one of the projects. We have a regular project and a sandbox project for learning things setup in our TFS.

    Hello Danya,

Thanks again for the feedback.  We have not seen #1 reported before but perhaps it's due to a combination of your monitor resolution and your dashboard settings.  What is the resolution of the monitor you are using to display the dashboard?  Also can you please tell me what value you have for DashboardLayoutConfigFile in the user settings file for WIM.  The file can be found here: {My Documents}\Work Item Manager 2010\UserSettings.xml.  A screenshot would also be helpful.

If you have multiple projects configured to display in the dashboard, you can navigate between them in two ways.  One is by using the left and right arrow keys, and the other happens automatically based on a configurable time interval.  By default, this interval is 300 seconds (5 minutes).  We have not seen it before where some of the widgets display data from multiple projects, but I've logged it as a bug and we'll look into it.

This is what I have for DashboardLayoutConfigFile is LayoutConfig_1920x1080_NoWarehouse.xml.

Have you tried running this product on a laptop with a regular desktop monitor plugged into the laptop? My display is extended onto the desktop monitor. When I run this solely on the laptop it doesn't skew nor does it display double the data. I am currently not in the office today to play with the desktop monitor. But when I'll send a screenshot as soon as I put these two back together again.

Ok I'm in the office and I managed to duplicate the issue.

    Skewed View
    1. Just opened PDB w/ Dell Latitude E6510 laptop connected to Dell 21" monitor. Extended display onto other monitor. Monitor is registered as being on the left of the laptop and Voila!

    Double Data
    1. Opened PDB
    2. Pressed F2 to go into configuration
    3. Connected to another TFS project
    4. Pressed Left, RIght arrow several times
    5. Pressed F2 again to connect to another TFS project
    6. Pressed Left, Right arrow several times and Voila!

So where am I emailing these screenshots?

    Hi Danya,

The setup you have sounds just like mine with a laptop on the right and a big external monitor on the left.  I have not seen this problem before and could not reproduce it with the steps provided.  I might not have been doing it exactly the same though.  Even better than screenshots would be if you recorded a short video of the problem and posted the link here.  Jing is a great tool for this and it's also free.

I've submitted a support ticket under RadControls for WPF. (There is no section on this site for submitting tickets for Project Dashboard or Agile stuff.) I haven't received any sort of reception email confirming the ticket has been received and I don't see it on my account yet. (Partying  hard for the holiday, huh?)

I submitted this on Friday, July 1. I guess we'll have to wait and see if the ticket gets lost in translation or if it's in lala land.

    Hello Danya,

I looked at your account and did not see any tickets in the WPF RadControls.  Did you submit this ticket so that you could attach some files?  Is it at all possible to get a jing video of the steps to reproduce?

    Kind regards,

Ok I looked into Jing by TechSmith and this process involves posting the video out on the web for the entire world to see. Granted this isn't some major military project, it's still a proprietary project in which I am bound by contract, not to reveal to the whole world like this.

Are you saying that there is no internal private email account at Telerik, or a way to video conference with you all to show you this bug?

    Hello Danya,

We understand your privacy concerns entirely and we are trying to do whatever possible to ease the communication and provide you with a solution as soon as possible.

Here is one way to send us a secured jing video with your issue:
    1. Shoot the video, place it under a password protected folder in your "screencast" account and share it - the video will be accessible just for people who know the password.
    2. Send us a support ticket under the "RadControls for Silverlight" category containing the link and password to access the video. This support ticket will be a private communication channel between you and Telerik.
    3. Reply in this thread with the ticket ID and/or the ticket name so we can search for it and access the video.

If you are having difficulties to send us a support ticket here are the steps:
    1. Log into your Telerik account.
    2. From the quick links on the right click on "Get Support" link.
    3. When navigated, click on the "Contact support team" link under "Still have questions?" paragraph.
    4. When navigated, click on the green "Submit Ticket" button under the "RadControls for Silverlight" category.
    5. When navigated, select "Other" from the areas drop down and "All" from the product list.
    6. Fill in the ticket subject and paste the link and password to the video in the body.
    7. Click "Send" button.

Attached are some screen shots that could navigate you through the above process.

Alternatively you could try to send the video as a ZIP file attachment to the ticket.

Hope this will help. Looking forward for the support ticket.

My apologies for the late reply here.

We've submitted an email to Joel with the video, image and disclaimer. Please coordinate with him and get back to us with your results. Thank you!
