Market-leading end-to-end solutions provider rolls out latest innovations to its award-winning developer productivity tools portfolio
WALTHAM, MA, MARCH 16, 2011 – Telerik, a provider of end-to-end solutions for the software development lifecycle, today revealed details of its first quarterly milestone release of 2011. The Q1 2011 release introduces a host of advancements across the company’s award-winning developer productivity line, including the commercial debut of RadControls for Windows Phone, and substantial enhancements to Telerik JustCode, an add-in for Microsoft Visual Studio, and Telerik OpenAccess ORM. The release highlights Telerik’s rise as the market frontrunner in end-to-end software development tools and resources.
“Telerik is setting the pace for rapid innovation across the software development ecosystem,” said Svetozar Georgiev, CEO Telerik. “Our focus on delivering integrated solutions combined with a rapid release cycle that enables us to respond quickly to customer needs has helped us become a standout in the crowded marketplace. Telerik’s tools and technologies remove barriers to entry for developers at every level, allowing teams of any size to realize their full potential and achieve greater levels of success.”
“Developers benefit from easy access to forward-looking tools and resources that enrich, extend, and add value to the Visual Studio experience,” said Dave Mendlen, Developer Marketing at Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased to see Telerik’s commitment to elevating the software development process continues unabated.”
A Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Telerik’s Q1 2011 release offers numerous new features and upgraded functionalities, including the official launch of RadControls for Windows Phone 7. A complete user interface (UI) toolbox of super-light controls for building rich, lightning-fast mobile applications, it efficiently tackles key challenges, such as data visualization. With new controls like RadGauge, SparkLine, and BulletGraph, mobile app developers can immediately jump into development, shortening time-to-market and increasing opportunities for app-based revenues.
“Telerik offers Windows Phone 7 controls that truly make development easier – they’re fast, stable, and provided needed functionality that greatly reduced our development time,” said Pratik Kothari, principal at Techark Consultancy and creator of the “Mood Swing™” app for Windows Phone 7. “Telerik offered a great overall development experience.”
Telerik is also releasing upgrades to JustCode, its agile Microsoft Visual Studio code analysis and refactoring add-in, and OpenAccess ORM, the company’s enterprise-grade .NET data tool. New to JustCode is a decompiling feature, enabling users to effortlessly browse deep into assemblies to view source code not otherwise available without leaving the Visual Studio environment. Also being unveiled are code cleaning, which minimizes unnecessary code through automated formatting, and code style-sharing, which allows settings to be shared across a development team.
The OpenAccess ORM Q1 2011 release features a complete redesign of its powerful visual designer. New wizards and assistance dialogs elevate the data experience and enhance ease-of-use, permitting users of every skill level to swiftly and efficiently gain total control of the visual model mapping process. Also significant are improvements to the ORM’s LINQ2SQL converter and a new converter for streamlined migration of Entity Framework models to OpenAccess ORM.
Other features and capabilities being introduced to Telerik’s developer productivity product line include new web parts for SharePoint, additional extensions and controls, better mobile device support, WinForms compatibility with Microsoft Active Accessibility, design-time upgrades, and expanded reporting functionality.
“Beyond being an innovation leader, Telerik’s focus centers on really taking things that can be difficult – getting started on new platforms, for example – and introducing easy-to-use tools that help users quickly become productive,” said Todd Anglin, Chief Evangelist, Telerik. “That our Windows Phone 7 tools are already being used to successfully create virtually everything from games to productivity applications and our recent announcement of full Moonlight support in RadControls for Microsoft Silverlight is proof of Telerik’s commitment to staying ahead of emerging technologies and trends.”
Updates to Telerik’s WebUI Test Studio automated UI testing and TeamPulse agile team management suites are planned for later this year.
