JustMock extends Telerik’s commitment to providing Visual Studio developer productivity
Waltham, MA, April 13, 2010 – Telerik, the leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET, today announced the introduction of JustMock, a productivity add-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and 2010. JustMock helps developers easily create object mockings in unit tests, saving time and improving the quality of software testing. JustMock is being introduced as a Beta and is scheduled for commercial release in July 2009.
“Telerik’s continued commitment to .NET developer productivity led to the creation of JustMock,” said Hristo Kosev, Telerik CTO. “Developers frequently spend a lot of time and effort testing code against systems that are not always available, like databases and web services. JustMock was created to free developers from the constraints of a live connection and help them save time writing unit tests.”
JustMock enables developers to test .NET code in an isolated environment, independent of any external resources like databases, web services or proprietary code, significantly increasing the quality and scope of unit tests. Unlike other mocking tools, JustMock doesn’t put constraints on what can be mocked allowing developers to work with objects traditionally inaccessible to mocking tools, such as sealed classes, non-virtual methods and properties, static classes, and static methods and properties. JustMock can also mock all classes and methods included in the MSCORLIB assembly, like DateTime and FileInfo, giving developers unprecedented ability to create maintainable unit tests.
Additionally, JustMock uses a strongly typed API, which ensures error-free mocking and easy unit test refactoring. The tool introduces tight integration with VisualStudio and MSBuild, which helps users easily deploy the tool and set it up for the most advanced scenarios.
